Will participants get access to build on Workato?

Yes, all participants will get access to the enterprise version of the Workato platform, including its AI features. This workspace is hosted on Workato’s US Data Centre, and you’ll find the sign in link here: app.workato.com. If you are an existing Workato user on a workspace that is hosted on the Singapore Data Centre, kindly note that the above sign in link is different.

Will participants get support if they encounter technical issues while trying to access functions on Workato?

How do I register?

You can register at this link. For detailed step-by-step instructions, please refer to the participant guide here.

Can I register multiple times?

No. The system automatically validates registrations and ensures that a participant can only be registered once. If multiple registrations occur, the earliest record will be considered, and duplicates will be disregarded.

Can I register as both a team and an individual?

No. Participants must decide if they are joining the challenge as an individual or as a team. If multiple registrations occur, we will only accept the earliest record of registration.

What types of ideas or solutions can be created?

Any ideas that revolutionise and rethink the way we do work, in line with one or more of the 5 challenge categories. You are encouraged to focus on the most challenging problems and propose a scalable solution that could benefit from modern, agile, and cloud-native Enterprise Orchestration technology. This includes API ManagementData OrchestrationAI AgentsIntelligent Document Processing, and Governance Models.

How are winners selected and judged?

How should I prepare for the ideathon?

There are various self-paced training sessions that you can sign up for. Here is the link to the available training sessions that you can sign up for.

Do I need coding or technical skills to participate?

No, all participants with great ideas are welcome. If you’re creating a solution on Workato, coding or technical skills is not required because the platform supports non-technical users just as well as powerful technical builders. Training and mentorship will also be provided if your idea is selected for the finals.

What resources will be provided during the event?

Workato will make available to all participants (i) access to the enterprise version of the Workato platform, including AI features, (ii) free training and certification programmes to accelerate your career, (iii) direct mentorship by Workato’s in-house AI, automation and integration experts for all finalists.

What happens to the ideas after the challenge?

Your ideas matter! After the challenge, we’ll spotlight the most innovative concepts and explore ways to bring them to life — whether through prototyping, mentorship, or collaboration with Workato and industry leaders.

Can I get access to all the winning ideas and finalist presentations?

Yes, all the finalist presentations will be documented in video and text format. They will be made available to participants after the winners are announced.

I don't have any technical experience, can I join the hackathon?

Yes, you are welcome to join regardless of experience level.

I don't have a team, can I still register for the hackathon?

Yes, you can register as an individual participant.

How many members can we have in a team?

You can have up to 5 members in a team.

What will be provided for the hackathon participants?

You will be provisioned a workspace with access to Workato's platform according to your email address.

I'm not in Singapore. Can I still register for the hackathon?

No, you must reside in Singapore to participate in the hackathon.

What are the prizes or rewards for winning teams?

The prizes are as follows: 

  • First Prize: $10,000 SGD and the opportunity to be a keynote speaker at Workato’s flagship conference
  • Second Prize: $5000 SGD
  • Third Prize: $3000 SGD
  • All finalists also receive direct mentorship by Workato’s in-house automation, integration and AI experts.

Are there opportunities for further development of ideas after the event?

Yes, winning ideas will receive support from Workato’s in-house team to explore developing and building out a working solution.

Will food and refreshments be provided at the finals?

Yes, Lunch and Tea Break will be provided. Finalists are also invited to the Dinner Networking event, where food and drinks will be catered.

What materials or equipment should participants bring to the finals?

Your presentation deck and materials should be submitted prior to the event date and pre-loaded to our organiser’s laptop. As such, you will not be expected to bring your own materials or equipment, unless you wish to include additional materials for the purpose of enhancing your presentation.

Is there mentorship or support available during the ideathon?

Yes, all finalists will receive direct mentorship from Workato’s in-house automation, integration and AI experts.

Registration

Who can participate in this ideathon?

We welcome all members of the public to participate, whether you’re a student, developer, IT professional or a Line of Business professional. All participants must be based in Singapore as the finals will take place at PIXEL on the IMDA campus.

Should I be on a team when submitting my idea?

You are free to participate as an individual or as a team. If you are participating as a team, please sign up with your team members’ details as well.

What are the eligibility criteria for participants?

No technical qualifications are required. We welcome all participants who have a great idea to drive transformation in the workplace using integration, automation and AI technology! All participants must also reside in Singapore.

What is the time frame for submitting my registration?

You may submit your registration from the beginning of the challenge on 18 March 2025, until 25 April 2025, Friday, 23:59 SGT.

Can I change the team leader after registration?

No, once the team is registered, the designated team leader is the only one provisioned with a Workato Workspace. The team leader must manually add or manage members within the workspace. Find out how to manage members in the participant guide.

How can I check if the registration has been approved?

Once the registration of a participant is approved, the Workato Workspace will be provisioned. Every participant will receive a confirmation email once the provisioning is complete. If you do not receive any confirmation, please send an email to contact-twr@workato.com and we will get back to you.

How long does it take to receive confirmation of my registration?

We typically approve registrations on a rolling basis as soon as we receive them. However, if there is high volume, we may require one working day to verify and confirm your registration. If you do not receive confirmation after this time frame, please contact us at contact-twr@workato.com.

What is the role of a team leader?

Your team leader will be the main point of contact for all communications from the developer challenge organising team.

Team leaders will also be responsible for adding team members into the Workato Workspace, as they will be the only member who receives access. Instructions on how to add team members into the workspace can be found in the
participant guide.

Submissions

How do I submit my ideas?

Please submit your ideas to this email address: submissions@workato.com. You are strongly encouraged to submit a link to your pitch deck or video, with public or viewing access enabled, as this ensures smoother access and review.

For slide decks: Share a Google Slide link or host your pptx or pdf deck on file-sharing platforms like Google Drive, OneDrive, Dropbox or iCloud. You may alternatively choose to attach the file directly to your email, but keep it within 10 slides.

For videosUpload your video to a platform like YouTube, Vimeo, or any file-sharing service and provide a private or shareable link. Videos are a great way to showcase your talent but do keep it within 5 minutes.

How do I know that my submission has been received?

You will receive a confirmation email that we have received your idea submission.

What is the deadline for submission?

The deadline for submission is 25 April, Friday, 23:59hrs SGT.
